Loch Awe Fishing
Some 25 miles long and quite narrow in places, Loch Awe forms a considerable catchment area for the many feeder burns flowing from the surrounds hills.
Water quality is high and the fish population thrive in this rich, natural feeding area. Fish found in Loch Awe include Wild Brown Trout, Salmon, Char, Pike and Perch. The season for all species except Pike is 15th March until 6th October. Pike is all year round. The best Trout fishing is March until the middle of May. The best Pike fishing is from May until October.
Taychreggan Boat & Ghillie
We have a boat, with or without outboards, for guest use. Some guests prefer to utilise the services of the local ghillie, George Black. If this is the case please notify us at least four weeks in advance when we shall arrange it for you. Call or fill in "Email Us" form in right column.

Half Day is 4 hours: 9am - 1pm or 2pm - 6pm. Whole Day is 8 hours: 10am - 6pm.
Guests are respectfully requested to provide own rod and tackle and to prepare boats - we provide engines/fuel, oar and life jackets.

Fly Fishing Lessons
Why not book a fly fishing morning or afternoon here at Taychreggan, covering the safety aspects of fishing in general followed by an introduction to the setting up of the rods and reels. A short talk on the best flies used for loch fishing and a free casting lesson from the bank.
Fly fishing which includes reel casting on the loch. The cost for follow on lessons is £60 per 4 hour lesson with boat hire an additional £40. Boat hire can be shared.
The fishing season is from 15th March to 6th October. Out of season fishing can be acquired at Inverawe Fisheries around 10 miles away.
